Abstract

|
Acupuncture has been used for diabetes in Korean medicine. This study was investigated to suggest new research direction of acupuncture through analysis of study trends about the effect of acupuncture on diabetes. We searched 74 articles were analyzed according to five aspects (publication year, country, study type, acupuncture method, acupoint). Non-clinical study mainly studied effect of electroacupuncture for the control of blood glucose levels and insulin secretion. But clinical study mainly studied effect of acupuncture for relief of diabetes-related complications system. The major studies reported fragmentary the effects of acupuncture for diabetes. It require more study about acupuncture as The candidate of new therapeutic technique on diabetes mellitus.
